Growing Up... Through Time @ Pinspirational Challenges

So it's been a while since I've made a creation for Pinspirational Challenges as I was away last week in Paris for a few days...

So this week I've joined in with this weeks challenge, which is the concept of Time and the team have been inspired by this picture below to create something:

So our sponsor this week is...

And my creation is below inspired by the above picture:

This is a project I have created made up of a card with photos inside of myself taken at certain times and ages of my life. These pictures have been used over the last few 7 years and to be honest I haven't changed - physically - that much. I've still got a bit of a baby face and I still get ID-ed in the supermarket for alcohol and a lottery ticket. My Mum actually likes to play 'Guess my Daughter's age' with her friends and they normally go for 12. The lowest guess is 11. Yeah I know, right?!

So the first picture is when I was 19 celebrating my 19th birthday with my friends. The lovely lady in the picture with me is Gloria. I think she said something funny and that's why I laughed! The second picture was when I was 23 and the last picture was taken a few weeks ago at my present age of 26.

This creation was inspired by the photo above of the clock and the concept of time and how everyone grows up. I also did a similar card for my male close friend Adam for his 25th birthday - which you can find here from my other blog via Tumblr.

I hope that this has inpsired you to join in this week's challenge at Pinspirational Challenges! Check out the creations of the DT team also, as usual they're pretty awesome! :) Join in this week challenge and tell your friends about it! We'd love to see you all take part!

As always please join / follow the blog for updates! Thanks for all your comments and follows so far! I really appreciate it :)

Crossing the Finish Line & Ridiculously Proud

Last month I posted up a card that I had made to cheer on the EI Team (former work colleagues) for taking part in the BG Energy Challenge to raise money for two charities - a reminder of the post is here: Good Luck Team / BG Energy Challenge 2012.

One of my friends and one of the EI team members who endured the two day challenge - Terry - posted up this picture of the six of them crossing the finish line of the last challenge (I think, there were six challenges in all over the two days across Dartmoor)

Crossing the line: Erica, Terry, Michael, Marc (back), Andy and Gareth

Out of 35 teams, the EI team came 11th which over the last three years that they've done the event, it is the best position that they've come through in the competition and if anything they should be so proud of themselves. They also reached their target of £5,000 and then some to help the two charities involved - Sparks and Care International.

I for one am extremely proud of them all, a tiny bit more so for Michael and Terry as they were first timers to take part in the challenge, the other four have done the last two BG challenges, and they've overcome such hurdles to get to this point! I am extremely proud of them, they did an awesome job and I personally couldn't have done it better myself! These guys are awesome and they deserve a MEGA HUGE pat on the back, and a very well--deserved massage! :) As well as few pints!

July Christmas...

Hey everyone! Thanks for stopping by Princess Melus Crafts this week...

Today we launch our fortnight challenge at Aud Sentiments! And mine follows a Christmas theme...

It's 'Sentiment on a tag' this fortnight, so whatever you've decided to create, make sure your sentiment is on tag :) or alternatively you can make a tag - but make sure your sentiment is on it!

Our sponsor this fortnight is the awesome Tickled Pink Stamps

Here's some info on them:
Cute, Quirky and Pink!  They are an Australian online company - owner Kellie has 3 very active children who keep her busy outside of craftland!  Personally, I think they have a gorgeous range of images, some are beautiful, some more quirky - really something for everyone

And this is my creation using one of their digital stamps: Tickled Winter - Ivy

Me and my friend Emily were joking a few weeks ago about making cards. She really liked the birthday card I made her and she asked if I had any up and coming projects coming up - I said to her that I had, put they were in planning stages rather than in actual making stages. I joked with her that I was actually thinking (a bit too prematurely) about making Christmas cards and well this Christmas card reminds me of last Christmas and particularly Christmas shopping...

Here's my creation:

It's the first week of December 2011 and I'm slightly more prepared than the year previous. My friend T on the other hand wasn't and he technically forgot his shopping list - and had his memory instead :) We both live in London and met up in centre of town to do some of our Christmas shopping together. He needed to get presents for most of his family and I had to get a few things for my friends. London's central shopping street - Oxford Street - was made accessible for people to shop with no traffic and had a mini festival going on in the middle of the road. Totally random! And well after browsing around we got a few things and headed down to Westfield Stratford City in East London to end the day with more shopping, a movie and dinner. Yeah I know - looong daaay, but equally I totally enjoyed it. I actually helped pick out some scrapbooking stuff for his Nan as a Christmas gift - so I've accepted that I can be useful :)

The image from Tickled Pink totally reminded me of Christmas shopping with T and trying to pick out gifts for people knowing full well they'll either love it (90% of the time) or hate it (10%!). I can safely say we did a great job - I look forward to struggling this year with any sort of Christmas shopping. Fun times!

So take part in our challenge this fortnight at Aud Sentiments and you could be a winner in this fortnight's challenge! Check out the blog for our awesome DT creations too! :)

Here's our image for this challenge:

And we're sponsored by Crafty Sentioments :)

And the prize is: 3 digis from our lovely sponsors!

So... I've created this scrapbook layout below:

This 12 x 12 layout is of my gorgeous best friend Beverley and her partner Fro. They've been together for two-and-a-half years and first met at college which myself, Bev and Fro attended together for two years from 2002 - 2004. I know feel slightly olllldddd now...

They have a loooonnnnggg love story of how they got together, but I won't bore you with that (Haha!) But I will say this - they don't say 'third time lucky' for no reason :) 'Finally' on the Pins image definitely describes them both! ;) Very apt!

So with many loved up people in the world, hey, I wanna see those awesome love-themed cards, projects or layouts and spread the love around. 'Cos at Pinspirational Challenges this week - Love is all around....

Tuesday in Fairyland :)

Hi there! Thanks for stopping by on this very cloudy Tuesday evening in the UK!

It's another week at the (Pin)spirational Challenges Blog. This week's inspiring image is this:

Our sponsor for this week's challenge is:

Doodle Dragon Studios

So with this week's inpsired image uploaded on our Challenge blog today, time to get those creative minds working and creating an awesome entry into our blog challenge this week!

My DT creation is below:

For this Fairy Card, I used the Prima Fairybelle collection (very apt and approrpiate I think!) and mounted this on white pearlescent cardstock as the base for the card. The image used is Dandelion Fairy from Some Odd Girl ansd this was coloured in with Promarkers: Blush for skin, Forest Green and Bright Green for the dress, Sky Blue and Amethyst for the wings, Tulip Yellow for the hair, Sky Blue for the Eyes, Blus for the Dandelion flecks, and more Amethyst for her shoes. The butterflies were used out of a Sizzlix butterfly die and a butterfly punch I had, the half pearls are from Paper Cellar.

I kept the card simple, only because I didn't want to overload it with a lot of embellishments and ribbon (you know I love my ribbon!) I only put a few butterfly embellishments on the card just to make it 'less boring', eyecatching and dimensional. Hope you guys all like it!

Visit the (Pin)spirational Challenges blog to check out the DT's creations as well as enter into this week's challenge and tell your fellow crafters and bloggers about our challenges on Pinspirational Challenges!

My creation is below:

I thought I would do something different this fortnight and do a hanging tag for a Special Friend.

I coloured the picture in with some Promarkers (Rose Pink, Tulip Yellow, Black, Poppy, Bright Green and Forest Green) and then cut the image down to size, distressing the edges with my Tim Holtz Distressing tool. I used Prima's Anna Lee Collection, distressing the edges also, and printed out the 'For a Special Friend' sentiment (more distressing!) on the front. Pink and White Baker's Twine finished the look, with medium thick cotton string adhered to the top so that you can this sign. There is a journaling or writing spot on the back for your special message. This was all mounted on to cream cardstock as a base.
